This is the most precious, happy book imaginable. It has the perfect positive messages I want to share with my grandkids, who are 2.5 and 4 years old. They both love this book and love Earl and I am happy to report they love their grandmom. We need more books like this out in the world!!! Now I’m going to give someone a big ‘ole Earl hug!!

This is the sweetest book! The beautiful artwork teaches when and how to hug, featuring Earl and all his animal friends! Earl is a real dog; his story is included at the end of the book. We are eager to read more about Earl in his upcoming books!

Earl is an adorable little pup who shows up for his friends in a cute and caring way. He loves to spread kindness and joy, often with a hug (after-all, hugs are happy!) but Earl also understands: “Sometimes my friends need their space, so don’t let that hug go to waste. Find someone who might be sad and your big hug will make them glad.” The sentiment of the book is positive and caring. The words are melodic, flow easily and simple to understand. My niece especially loved reading the back story on all of the animal characters. And of course Earl is the precious star of the show! I’m glad to have found our new favorite book and as a special treat, we also found our new favorite song which accompanies the book! Highly recommend Hugs are Happy!!
